Paint Correction

Bring Back the Gloss

Restore Your Shine With Paint Correction

Over time, your vehicle’s paint can develop swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, water spots, and other imperfections that dull its finish. Paint correction is a meticulous polishing process that removes surface defects and restores your vehicle’s paint to a deep, glossy, showroom-quality finish.

At Advanced Auto Salon, we specialize in professional paint correction services that bring back the brilliance of your car’s paint—without the need for a repaint.

What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is the art of restoring your vehicle’s finish by removing imperfections in the clear coat.

Using high-quality compounds, polishes, and professional-grade tools, we carefully level the paint to eliminate: Swirl Marks, Light Scratches, Oxidation, Water Spots, Etching from Bird Droppings or Tree Sap and Holograms from Improper Polishing.

This process not only enhances the depth, clarity, and gloss of your paint but also provides the ideal base for Ceramic Coating or Wax protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn’t listed below, please feel free to contact us.

Paint correction is the process of using machine polishing techniques to remove defects like swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation from a car’s clear coat, restoring a deep, glossy finish.

If you notice swirl marks, light scratches, dullness, or oxidation on your car’s paint, it may benefit from paint correction. You can check under direct sunlight or with a flashlight to see imperfections.

One-stage (Single-step) correction: Removes light swirls and enhances gloss.

Two-stage correction: Removes moderate defects with a cutting compound followed by a finishing polish.

Paint correction removes surface scratches in the clear coat but cannot fix deep scratches that have penetrated the base coat or primer.

The process can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days, depending on the severity of the imperfections and the level of correction needed.

When done properly by a professional, paint correction is safe. However, excessive or improper polishing can thin the clear coat, reducing long-term paint protection.

While not required, applying a ceramic coating after paint correction helps protect the newly corrected surface from future damage, making maintenance easier.

The longevity depends on how well the car is maintained. Proper washing techniques, avoiding automatic car washes, and applying protective coatings can keep the paint looking good for years.

DIY paint correction is possible but requires the right tools, products, and techniques. Without experience, it’s easy to cause more damage, such as burning through the clear coat.
