Bio-Progard UnderCoating

Deep Penetration, Continuous Protection

Why Choose Bio-Progard Rustproofing?

Over time, rust and corrosion can silently damage your vehicle, compromising its structural integrity and resale value. Bio-Progard is an advanced oil-based rustproofing solution designed to provide deep, lasting protection by penetrating hard-to-reach areas where rust typically begins.

Unlike traditional coatings, Bio-Progard remains fluid, ensuring ongoing coverage and self-healing properties to prevent rust from taking hold.

How Bio-Progard Works

Bio-Progard’s oil-based formula is engineered to:

Ideal for vehicles 4 years or older, Bio-Progard provides 1-2 years of protection with reapplication.

Step 1: Comprehensive Inspection

Before applying Bio-Progard rustproofing, our technicians perform a detailed inspection to identify any existing rust and assess high-risk areas for corrosion.

Visual Assessment

We start with a thorough visual inspection of key rust-prone areas, including wheel wells, door edges, and the undercarriage. Our team looks for early signs of corrosion such as paint bubbling, discoloration, and flaking metalthat indicate potential rust formation.

Examining Hard-to-Reach Areas

To ensure full protection, we lift the vehicle and inspect hidden areas like the frame, suspension components, and fuel lines. These areas are often overlooked but are highly susceptible to rust buildup.

Detecting Moisture Buildup

Since moisture accelerates rust, we check common water-trap zones, including seals, drainage points, and panel joints. Identifying these spots helps us determine where extra protection is needed.

Assessing Previous Repairs

If your vehicle has undergone repairs or bodywork, we evaluate the quality of past repairs. Poorly done repairs can create weak points where rust may develop, requiring additional attention during the rustproofing process.

Step 2: Vehicle Disassembly

To ensure comprehensive rust protection, we carefully remove key components that can trap moisture and conceal rust-prone areas. This step allows us to apply Bio-Progard effectively to all critical surfaces.

Fender Liners

Fender liners protect the inner wheel wells, but they also trap moisture, dirt, and road salt, creating an ideal environment for rust. Removing them allows for a thorough inspection and full rustproofing coverage.

 Plastic Trims

Exterior plastic trim and moldings can hide rust-prone areas around mounting points and seams. By removing these parts, we ensure that no hidden corrosion is left untreated.

Carpeted Panels

Certain interior noise-reduction panels can also conceal rust formation. We remove these panels to inspect and apply Bio-Progard in areas where moisture can accumulate over time.

Wheel Wells & Underbody Panels

Protective plastic or metal panels covering the undercarriage and wheel wells are detached to inspect, clean, and apply Bio-Progard directly to areas most vulnerable to corrosion.

Step 3: Underbody Cleaning

A clean underbody is essential for ensuring Bio-Progard adheres properly and provides maximum rust protection. Our technicians follow a thorough cleaning process to remove contaminants and prepare the vehicle for treatment.

Dry Debris Removal

We begin by removing loose dirt, gravel, and debris using brushes and compressed air. This step ensures that no particles remain that could hide rust or interfere with the rustproofing application.

High-Pressure Washing

A high-pressure wash is used to eliminate road salt, grime, and other corrosive materials that accumulate in the undercarriage. Special attention is given to areas where moisture tends to collect, such as wheel wells, chassis, and frame components.

Degreasing for Heavy Buildup

For areas with oil or grease accumulation, a degreasing agent is applied. Our technicians scrub these areas to break down stubborn contaminants, ensuring a clean surface for Bio-Progard to bond effectively.

Thorough Rinsing

After degreasing, the underbody is rinsed with clean water to remove any leftover cleaning agents. This ensures that no residue remains that could interfere with the rustproofing process.

Complete Drying

The underbody is fully dried using either air-drying methods or blowers. Ensuring the vehicle is moisture-free is crucial, as trapped water can reduce the effectiveness of rustproofing.

Final Inspection

Once the underbody is clean and dry, our technicians perform a final inspection to check for missed spots or existing rust. If necessary, additional cleaning or pre-treatment will be done to ensure optimal protection.

Step 4: Rust Removal & Descaling (Optional but Highly Recommended)

For vehicles with existing rust, we offer rust removal and descaling to ensure Bio-Progard adheres effectively and provides maximum long-term protection. This step helps prevent rust from spreading and strengthens the metal for enhanced durability.

Mechanical Rust Removal

For surface rust, our technicians use needlers or sanding discs to scrub away loose rust and corrosion. In more severe cases, an angle grinder with a rust removal attachment is used to eliminate deeper rust spots. This process ensures that all weak and flaking material is removed, exposing solid metal underneath.

Chemical Rust Treatment

For stubborn rust, we apply chemical rust removers that penetrate and dissolve corrosion at the molecular level. After allowing the solution to work, our technicians scrub the treated areas to remove any remaining rust deposits. This method is particularly effective for rust-prone seams and crevices.

Surface Cleaning

After rust removal, the affected areas are thoroughly cleaned to eliminate dust, debris, and chemical residue. This step ensures a smooth, contaminant-free surface for Bio-Progard to bond properly and provide lasting protection.

Final Inspection & Assessment

Once the rust removal and cleaning are complete, our technicians conduct a detailed inspection to check for remaining rust and assess the integrity of the metal. If necessary, additional spot treatments are applied to ensure a fully prepped surface before rustproofing begins.

Step 5: Bio-Progard Application

Ensuring full coverage is essential for effective rust protection. Once the vehicle is prepped, we apply Bio-Progard rustproofing using a multi-step process designed to penetrate seams, crevices, and high-risk areas for long-lasting corrosion resistance.

Even Underside Application

We begin by coating the entire underside of the vehicle with Bio-Progard rustproofing, ensuring an even layer of protection. The formula seeps into seams and crevices, forming a durable barrier against moisture, road salt, and other corrosive elements. Extra attention is given to wheel wells, frame components, and suspension areas, where rust tends to develop first.

Fogging of Vehicle Cavities

To provide complete rust protection, we use a high-pressure 360-degree nozzle to fog internal cavities such as rocker panels, fenders, quarter panels, and frame channels. This ensures that Bio-Progard reaches every hidden surface, preventing rust from forming inside out.

Curing & Bonding Process

After application, Bio-Progard needs time to cure and bond effectively with the metal. This step allows the formula to penetrate deeply into crevices, ensuring continuous rust prevention even in high-moisture environments.

Maintenance & Reapplication Recommendations

For optimal long-term protection, we recommend regular inspections and reapplications every 1-2 years. This proactive approach keeps your vehicle’s underbody and internal cavities shielded, preventing rust-related damage and preserving resale value.

By following this detailed application process, Bio-Progard delivers superior, long-lasting rustproofing, keeping your vehicle protected against corrosion and environmental damage.
